Preparing for a Maintenance Terrain Walk is the most important phase of the operation and where the majority of the benefit of the process occurs. When a Maintenance Terrain Walk is properly conducted, Battalion Commanders will gain an awareness of the overall health of their logistics posture, and an increased understanding of what is needed in their organization to achieve the Army’s standard equipment maintenance and sustainable readiness.
